BBC Studioworks is housed within Kelvin Hall. A jewel and genuine landmark of Glasgow.

Built in the 1920s with stunning architecture and steeped in history, having hosted a circus, indoor athletics, music concerts, a transport museum and much more. As well as our studio, Kelvin Hall is now home to Scotland’s digital archive library, a state-of-the-art fitness centre including gym, sports halls and fitness suites, café and Glasgow University.

Covering a large studio footprint of 10,500 sq. ft, BBC Studioworks Kelvin Hall can accommodate both long-term residencies and spot bookings for a wide range of entertainment and drama shows across multiple genres.

The sound and lighting galleries are the largest that BBC Studioworks has built across its entire UK footprint.

BBC Studioworks has invested in the latest technology for Kelvin Hall, while ensuring consistency with its other studios and the ability to easily adapt as technology continues to evolve. As well as installing HD facilities to ensure the best possible picture quality, Kelvin Hall features high quality audio equipment for pristine broadcast-grade sound. Resilient internet connectivity together with hardwired and radio communication systems ensures an enhanced level of robustness in production communications, user flexibility and performance.

• Sound Control room, which features a Studer Vista X desk, Calrec Type R grams desk, Spot On, Riedel Artist talkback with Bolero wireless intercom, Reaper DAW and an OLED Monitor stack. The room is furnished with ergonomic chairs, and a sofa.
• Lighting Control room, which features an OLED Monitor stack, discreet OLED monitoring, Riedel Artist talkback with Bolero wireless intercom, Sony HDC3200 cameras, ETC Ion XE lighting desk and a Sirius 840 router.
• All control rooms are furnished with ergonomic chairs.
• A Multi-functional Green Room space, great for hospitality or can be used as an additional filming space due to connectivity via a local wall box. The room features a bar area with bottle fridges, coffee machine, wall mounted TVs and soundbars.
• Three office spaces available. Our production offices feature a high-volume printer and copier, shredder, coffee machine, kettle and fridge. Water coolers are located throughout the building and Wi-Fi is available everywhere.
• We also offer an Exec viewing room.
